What Happens When WiFi Is Out In Lockdown…

What happens when your WiFi cuts off and you’re in the middle of a pandemic? You feel like you’re going to scream! You’re just stuck refreshing, staring longingly at the WiFi bar trying to see if it will come back to life. To no avail, you are left without any kind of contact to the outside world, except for your mobile data. But you can’t stay on that forever, unless you have a large and expensive contract. Many of us don’t. As such, we are left helpless and without ideas for how to cope. Luckily, we have been thinking of things you could be doing instead when or if this issue hits you personally.

Go for a walk

The first thing that should be on your mind is going outside of a walk. You’d be surprised at the massive change in your mind. You will go from being hyperactive, to suddenly being a lot calmer. But it’s raining and it’s cold, so you shouldn’t go outside with your normal shoes. We recommend wellington boots because they keep your feet impressively warm and protect your clothes from the rain and mud. But what kind? We recommend five great brands that are Hunter, La Chameau, Percussion, Fife and Dunlop. Going for a walk is great but you need to do it with a purpose. So plan a route using any of these apps!

Learn to cook

Rather than sulking in your bedroom, just go downstairs and make yourself some cookies. If you’re a student, then this is one of the best tips in the list of 8 tech-free tips to enjoy university during lockdown. You should learn how to cook because it’s going to help you live by yourself and not have to rely on your mom’s cooking all the time. You might not be able to get  a takeout where you are, because of the situation we’re all in right now. So, being able to make some great snacks or a dinner that is to die for, is really worth your while, as the WiFi gets fixed at the other end.

Start reading

Many of us like to watch movies and YouTube videos while we’re at home and when the WiFi is killed off, we don’t have any form of entertainment left. Apart from, the classic way to excite your imgationation, which is to read! Hopefully you have saved some emergency books onto your phone and you have them ready at your disposal whenever this occurs. Of course, pick some exciting books so you really are captivated by them, and not keeping one eye on the WiFi connection bar.

Window watching

If you can’t manage to do anything other than these things, you may as well look outside the window. If you have a great view, maybe you’re in a high-rise building, then you are spoiled for the view. If you don’t and you live in a suburban home, maybe buy some bird seed and place it in a pile on the floor. Then watch the birds do their thing.

We all dread the internet going kaput. But, you should never fear it happening. These things should show you that you can stay occupied while it gets fixed and not end up tearing your hair out.
