But, it is really important that you look after yourself too. Here are a few ways that you can unwind at home.

Breathing
We all breathe, but we don’t all breathe well. Some of us take short hampered breaths that barely fill our lungs. However, to get a real breath, you should feel your lungs fill up, your shoulders move, and even your tummy will move. Doing this for as little as ten minutes a day will help you feel calmer and more relaxed. Because you are likely to be concentrating on the breathing, the stress you are feeling might begin to dissipate slightly. In fact start right now, take a bit deep gulp of air, and slowly let it out.
All of that extra oxygen will help your concentration levels too.
Body
Yoga and Pilates are some of the best ways to gently stretch your muscles – and it doesn’t take up much room either. All you’ll need is some comfy clothes, a little time to browse pilates mats, and of course the space to pull downward facing dog. You can hop on to YouTube and find a flow or routine that suits your mood.
If you are prone to headaches and backaches, the breathing coupled with improved posture can work wonders for both of these.
If you really get into it, you might find that booking a class and getting in-person tips on your practice will improve it beyond measure and you will feel even better.
Under body will also come – adding more fresh fruits and vegetables into diet and really ensuring you are drinking plenty of water too.
Brain
Giving your brain time to process the things that are going on in your life is really important. In fact, doing things that are not related in any way to the things you are going through is the perfect way to do that. Hobbies are one way that you can consistently work on your happiness levels. As it turns out, having a creative outlet is perfect for your brain, and in fact, the type of happiness that comes from hobbies is the type that says around.
Meditation is also something you could be doing to help you unwind. There are applications for your phone that can help you with guided meditation – Headspace and Calm have a range of options and Calm has sleep stories and calming music too.
When it comes to de-stressing, you will need to find a combination of things. It is not typically a one size fits all solution, and it can take some trial and error. In general though, stretching those muscles out, giving your brain a rest and paying attention to your breathing will see you on the path to calmsville in no time at all.
