Interior design styles are important for your quality of life in a property, but they can also be central to improving the property value and selling the home to interested buyers. If you want to explore new design styles for your home – or for dedicated rooms – read on to find out more.

Modern Interior

Although the two are usually conflated, the modern interior differs from the contemporary one. A modern interior is defined by solid colours and clean lines; it also uses a lot of glass and metal elements. A modern interior dates to the high modernist period at the start of the 20th century.

Modern styles have a lot of personalities, and they are good for an entire home or a room in a home. There’s nothing wrong with decorating a single room in a modern style and having a contemporary style elsewhere. Contemporary interior styles blend styles from different eras.

Minimal Interior

Minimalist styles had a moment in the recent past, but they are still popular and common. Minimalist styles can be defined as rooms with clean lines, solid colours, and a lack of any flamboyance; these styles are some of the easier to create using basic home store essentials.

If you are trying to sell your home, a minimalist style is one of the best to implement. One of the main strategies for selling a home is to make the buyer feel as if they could live there, and minimalist styles are simple. See this Interior design showroom by Manor Design for details.

Art Moderne Style

Art Moderne dates from the late 30s to the late 40s and appeals to modern tastes thanks to the bold colours, patterns, and lines. This interior style is all about bigger, bolder, and better, which is probably why it is popular with younger generations of people living in contemporary spaces.

This interior style might appeal to a young single professional with a flat in the inner city; it might also appeal to people with an artistic sensibility; don’t be surprised to find wall-sized abstract paintings in homes or flats; these paintings are statement pieces that tend to match everything.

Scandinavian Styles

The Scandinavian styles – sometimes called Scandi styles – originated in the Nordic countries during the 20th century. Probably, the most well-known example of this popular style comes from IKEA, which demonstrates well the straight lines and simplicity of this interior decoration.

Scandinavian styles are popular for their simplicity and functionality; no wonder they have become so popular worldwide. Whether you want to renovate a guest room or update the property in preparation for selling it, a Scandi style is one of the easiest ones to implement.

Industrial Styles

Industrial styles have also become popular in homes as well as bars and restaurants in recent years. An industrial style tends to expose the brickwork of a room along with pipes for the heating system; this allows them to be used as a feature in the property. Industrial styles are also easy to implement, but they need to be carefully designed to get the right aesthetic appeal.
