Earlier today, I published a post about How I Smashed My August Blogging Goals. So now I want to talk to you about my September goals.
Let’s start with blogging September goals
We’ve already established that my blog had an amazing August. I completely smashed all but one of my blogging goals. So now I feel like I’ve set a high bar for myself and need to keep building on what I’ve already achieved. These are my September goals for my blog (with August figures in brackets for comparison)
- Sessions – 2500 (1939)
- Page Views – 7000 (6233)
- Domain Authority – 17 (14)
- Facebook – 150 likes (113)
- Twitter – 2500 followers (1589)
- Instagram – 450 followers (378)
- Pinterest – 7k monthly unique viewers (5.5k)
I’ve changed my Pinterest goal a bit, because I was looking at followers before, which is lovely, but getting my pins in front of people and driving more traffic to my site is most important.
I feel like I might be pushing my luck a bit with these goals. I worked really hard to get where I did with my sessions and page views in August and I’m not sure there’s enough hours in the day to do more to promote my blog than I already am. But if I shoot for the moon, even if I fail, I’ll land among the stars… right?
In addition to these figures based goals, I also want to achieve the following
- Three guest posts written for other blogs. (One of these is already done and due to be published next week, so I have a head start and just need to write two more.)
- A list of post ideas for Blogmas
- Getting a week ahead of my posting schedule
That last one is really important. Until recently, I was a week ahead and then life got in the way (and I added an extra day to the schedule) and now I’m occasionally writing posts the day before they go live, which is really not ideal for me and just makes me realy anxious. So I need to take some time to get back on track.
I’m really excited about giving Blogmas a go this year, because I LOVE Christmas. But I know I won’t be able to do it unless I get organised and have everything planned in advance.
I deliberately have not set myself an earnings goal. I defintely want to be working towards making money from my blog, but it’s not the most important thing and I don’t want to put pressure on myself, because I don’t want to risk getting to the point where I don’t enjoy blogging anymore.
Now for some non-blogging related September goals
Since writing down my blogging goals for August did such a good job at keeping me motivated, I figured I’d give it a try with my non-blogging goals.
Do more fun activities with the twins
I love crafts, but rarely do anything like that with Jack and Alice. So, I want to get outside and get messy and have fun showing them cool new things. I also want to take them swimming. Mr Becca really wants to take them, but I have a serious lack of body confidence and hate wearing a swimming costume. I’m also a bit worried that Alice will hate it and it makes me really anxious. But I don’t want the twins to miss out, so I’m determined to go before the end of September.
If you remember my Weigh in Wednesday posts, you’ll know that this has been a recurring theme this year… and one that I’ve failed spectacularly at. But we’re in September now and I need to do something about it. So, I’m going to make a real effort this month.
Drink more water
This is really part of losing weight. Staying hydrated is so important and really makes a difference to my weight loss.
Self care is important (here’s why, in case you’re not sure) and I haven’t been making enough of an effort. I’m starting by having my hair done on Tuesday and I’m going to try to do something nice for myself every day.
There you have it – my September goals. Please keep your fingers crossed for a good month for me! I hope you reach all of your goals, too!
