If you’ve been following my posts about my weight loss journey, you might be wondering where I am with it all. The last time I posted about my weight loss was my 2st in 60 days challenge. I lost 2st 1lb in 60 days and felt amazing!
All thanks to The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan
But, since my birthday in March, I’ve really struggled with my mental health. My anxiety has been pretty bad and it’s made it difficult to focus on anything. Including my diet. So, instead of pushing forward to lose the last 2st to get to my goal weight, I’ve been working to maintain the weight I’ve already lost.
People are quick to say that, if you lose weight with a meal replacement diet, you will put it all back on as soon as you come off it. Here’s a secret for you – that’s completely true. Kind of. It’s actually true of any diet – if you go back to eating the way you ate before you lost the weight, you will put the weight back on again. Obviously. If your old relationship with food made you gain weight before, it will do it again, the first chance it gets. The key is to change your relationship with food. Literally any diet you do requires you to change your relationship with food and form new habits, in order to maintain the weight loss.
The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan is no different.
Maintenance is the hardest part of any diet. But The 1:1 Diet has several steps to help you learn to maintain your new weight. And as I type this, I’m the same weight as I was at the end of my 60 day challenge, having lost the 3lb I had gained when I last weighed myself a couple of weeks ago.
Now I’m ready to crack on and lose the rest of the weight. In 4 weeks and 1 day, I’ll be in London to see The Backstreet Boys live at the O2 (in fact, I’m seeing them twice, two nights in a row!) and I want to lose a stone before then. So, tomorrow, I’ll be back on Step 1a, with the aim of losing 1st before June 17th. I’ll make more of an effort to keep you updated this time, I promise.
My progress so far
Now seems like a pretty good time to pull out some before and after photos to remind myself how far I’ve come. I hate photos of myself. I always think I look awful and I pick out all the things I don’t like about my body. This is as true now as it was last year, despite having lost 4st. But, like I tell all my clients, “before” photos are important. When you have “after” photos, you will be glad that you have something to compare them to, to remind yourself of how hard you’ve worked.

I still have a way to go
There’s 4st difference between those two photos. I’ve gone from a UK size 18/20 to a size 14 and I’m really happy with my progress so far. The first 4st was done in two parts – September to November and the end of January to March. So my journey hasn’t been as quick as it could have been, but it’s worked for me – allowing me to concentrate on my mental health, without putting all the weight back on in between.
I still have 2st to go and it’s time to refocus.
With The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, I know I can get to my goal weight in 2-3 months. So thats what I’m going to do. I’ve set myself a goal of losing the last 2st by the middle of August. I’m going to do this by sticking to Step 1a (three products a day), drinking at least 3 litres of water a day, and staying accountable on social media. You can find my Instagram account here, where I’ll be posting updates on my own progress as well as my clients’.
