It’s Friday again, which can only mean one thing – Word of the Week! You can read last week’s post here if you like!
Hot!
It’s too hot. I really don’t want to be one of those people who moan about it being too cold and then moan about it being hot… but I am definitely one of those people. I am basically Goldilocks. I like it when the temperature is just right. Spring and Autumn, please!
If I had to choose, I’d rather be too cold. At least then, you can wrap up nice and warm, drink hot chocolate, have lots of cuddles… Plus, Christmas! (only 6 months away, by the way!) Everyone loves Christmas, right? And then there’s snow – that’s super fun!
Being too hot is not fun!
Being too hot means being sweaty and gross and constantly trying to cool down. Summer is not an attractive time for me. This week, I’ve been too hot to do anything. I don’t want to get dressed when it’s hot, but not getting dressed isn’t really an option. I can’t concentrate in the heat, so working is harder.
The twins are grumpy in the heat too. Mostly because they want to be outside all the time and I can’t handle that for more than about a minute before I start melting.
Obviously, it’s lovely that we’re getting some sun
I know that most people love the sunshine and will be cursing me for wishing it would go away. But all the things I like to do in the sun are off-limits this year! Trips to the beach aren’t happening, because everyone else has the same idea, so it’s too crowded and the twins aren’t really great at understanding social distancing (turns out lots of adults aren’t, either).
I can’t go on holiday, or go swimming or book a spa weekend. I can’t have my nails done or visit my waxing lady (who I miss very very much, by the way!)
So I’ve spent this week feeling sorry for myself.
Not too sorry
because life is still pretty good in the Becca household. It’s just too hot!

The weather around our way has been quite mixed … the sun struggling to get through, and only succeeding sometimes. But when it does, great! #WotW
I’m just like you, I moan I’m hot, I moan I’m cold. But I’d much rather be cold. The sunshine is nice in short deliveries, in particular when you are planning a fun day out or can go to an uncrowded beach. But I much prefere being able to snuggle up when cold, so long as I don’t have to go out! As for the rain, I hear it’s going to be a wet weekend! #wotw
Emmmm…I don’t think you need any help with your rain dance, haha! I love the sunshine but I’m honestly so glad for the rain today. I had the worst sleep last night. Looking forward to more summery days with hopefully more manageable heat! #wotw
I am one of those people too. All winter I complain it’s too cold and all summer that it’s too hot. Can we not have something just in the middle. lol
I sat outside for half an hour midweek and had to come in and get changed because I was soaked in sweat. Not nice.
We’re forecast rain here at teatime and I can’t wait. I hope it cools down a little x
This week has certainly been very hot. I prefer the summer to the winter but like the temperature in the 20s rather than the 30s. It isn’t pleasant when it’s too hot and sticky and everyone gets grumpy. The heatwave seems to have broken here now and it feels a lot fresher and nicer – hopefully it’s also broken for you too. #WotW
