How The 1:1 Diet Can Fit into Your Life
I don’t know about you, but the first thing I used to think about when starting a new diet, was all the things I had to give up in order to lose weight. I’d think about the plans I’d have to cancel and the things I couldn’t eat. It felt like I had to make my life work around a diet and choose between having a social life and dieting. But I’m here to tell you how The 1:1 Diet can fit into your life. Because it can!
The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan is the only diet that has ever really worked for me. I don’t mean that other diets don’t work. Because they absolutely do. But not every diet is right for every person. Otherwise there’d only be one, right? And everyone would be doing it. Really, there’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to dieting.
But The 1:1 Diet has something other diets don’t have
Steps! The Steps plan means that The 1:1 Diet is suitable for almost anybody. I’ve lost count of the number of people who have said to me “I just couldn’t give up food” since I started The 1:1 Diet. And that’s fine. I find Step 1 easier than any of the other steps, because it takes away temptation and gives amazing results, which keep me motivated and on track. It’s the easiest, most effort-free diet I’ve ever tried. I don’t have to weigh or measure anything. I don’t have to count calories or write everything down to add up later. I just grab my product and know I’m on track.
But I’m not silly (well… not really). I know that not everyone feels the same way. I know that lots of people couldn’t imagine giving up food completely – even for the relatively short amount of time that they’d be on plan.
With The 1:1 Diet, they don’t have to!
Step 1 is brilliant. And lots of people love it. The fast results speak for themselves. But it’s not the only way. I’m not saying you won’t have to give up anything. Obviously, as with any diet, you have to make some changes if you want to lose weight. Our old habits with food are (generally) why we gained weight in the first place, so something has to change. But The 1:1 Diet can fit into your life – it doesn’t have to be the other way round.
There are 6 steps in The 1:1 Diet, but that doesn’t mean you have to do them all. If you don’t want to give up conventional food completely, your Consultant can help you decide which step is better suited to you and your lifestyle.
Bars, Bites and Ready Made Shakes are great when you’re on the go
There are so many products to choose from. Meal replacement diets aren’t just about shakes and soups anymore. If you’re in a rush, grab a bar or a packet of bites. Have one of the new (limited edition) Tropical Smoothies in the fridge and ready to go. So many of our products require almost no preparation time at all, so they can be really convenient for busy mum, commuters, and people who can’t be bothered to cook (ie. me).
Step 2 and above make it easier to socialise
Obviously, Step 1 can be difficult if you’re a bit of a social butterfly. Turning down invites to meals out can make you feel a bit isolated. Sitting at a table with your Salted Caramel Bites and a glass of water while all your friends tuck into plates of delicious food might not be your idea of a good time. Maybe you don’t want to draw attention to the fact that you’re on plan and don’t want to have to deal with all the questions that will inevitably be asked, or comments that will be made.
Those are all valid concerns. And if you feel that way, maybe Step 1 isn’t the step for you. I should note here that it’s not forever – no one expects you to be on Step 1 indefinitely. The beauty of The 1:1 Diet is that the results are quick, so most people don’t need to be on Step 1 for very long. But if you don’t want to do it at all, you don’t have to.
Socialising is easier on Step 3, when you can be a little bit more relaxed about what you eat, as long as you stick within the calorie allowance and, preferably, don’t go carb crazy. But it’s possible in Step 2, too. If you want to eat out, anywhere that you can get a salad is a good bet. Just choose something that fits in with the Step 2 food list.
And remember – short term sacrifice for long term gain
All the treats and meals out will still be there when you get to your goal weight. You don’t have to cut out your favourite foods forever. But the time that you’re on plan can be used to learn better habits and to address your relationship with food, so that you can indulge in the things you enjoy in moderation, without piling the weight back on after you’ve worked so hard to lose it! This is why working up through the steps for stabilisation and maintenance is so important.
The 1:1 Diet can be the last diet you ever do – how amazing would that be?!

Every slow and steady method is better than quick weight loss, because that you have the chance to win with your cravings 😉 I’m following the just cut it method and think that it’s brilliant!
I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you! But like I said, there’s no one diet that works for everyone. I’ve never been able to stay motivated enough to stick to a “slow and steady” method for long enough for it to work, which is why Step 1 of The 1:1 Diet works so well for me. But, for people who prefer to lose weight more slowly, Step 3 offers a more gradual approach 😊 there’s a step for everyone! (Well, for most, anyway 😊)
